of Fair Trading figures now show that over 111,000 people have their
own building horror stories to tell.
At Brett Paving, Marshalls and Interlay, who are leading governing
bodies within the industry, have the same concerns which are shoddy
workmanship and customers being ripped-off by rogue tradesman. Brett,

Scheme, which is a network of installers whose workmanship is assessed
by them to eliminate the risk of choosing a poor contractor. Smart

record and financial position is checked by an
Approved Installer Scheme operator.

The Hard Landscape Guarantee:
Only a Marshalls Register Contractor can offer you the unique Hard
Landscape Guarantee. The guarantee protects your investment with
a level of cover unmatched by any other company.
• Covers material defects for a full
10 years.
• Covers installation defects for 5 years.
• Is valid even if the installer ceases trading.
• Is index-linked, to protect your investment against inflation
• Is issued only when inspected and signed as satisfactory
by you, the customer.
• Is great value at just 2.5% of the of the contract value
(i.e., just £75 on a £3,000 installation)
Marshalls advise customers always to take out suitable protection
against fault, such as the Hard Landscape Guarantee.
Hard Landscape Guarantee
The Hard Landscape Guarantee is only available for domestic installations
installed by a Marshalls Approved Contractor.
The Hard Landscape Guarantee covers Marshalls Products for ten
years and the workmanship of each installation undertaken by a Marshalls
Register Contractor for five years.
The Guarantee is offered as an additional benefit by Marshalls
and in no way affects an party’s statutory rights. The total
liability in respect of all or any claims covered by this guarantee
shall not exceed the price of the installation.
